1. THE RITE OF SPRING
Anxiously awaiting spring? Why not make your holidays a little more interesting this year and accessorize it with flowers and blooming branches? We have spotted an increasingly popular trend of decorating for Christmas with what you would usually call typical Easter decor.
2. METALLIC PASTELS
Gold has been steadily accompanying Christmas for a long long time, but this year it got its companions in warmer metallic colours, such as copper, brass and bronze. The instant feeling of warmth they invoke is perfect for the frosty season, as the reflections of lights in these colours are just amazing.
3. WINTER FOREST
This classical Christmas theme never goes out of fashion. Fairytale forest features, Nordic patterns, antlers, naked branches, faux fur, Christmas wreaths … It’s a style we all know and adore. To freshen it up for the season of 2015, designers all over the globe introduced large photographic prints of idyllic winter scenes and wild animals you can easily incorporate through fabric cushion covers, posters or napkins.
4. MYSTIC ALLURE
Queens of mystery, may we have your attention please! Christmas decorations 2015 are bursting with dark, deep and enchanting colours that are balanced with lots of glitter on the other side. When playing around with mostly monochromatic decor, be sure to incorporate a lot of texture and different finish. Combine matte with glossy, weathered with sparkly, rough with smooth.
5. BACK TO PARADISE
In this trend, the traditional Christmas animal such as stags, foxes and owls are replaced by birds. But not just any birds! These colourful, long-tailed feathery creatures are surely straight out of paradise. They found their place on the Christmas tree as ornaments, on patterned fabrics and basically everywhere else.
6. MODERN TRADITION
Those of you who insist on staying faithful to minimalist and modern styling even in the otherwise opulent and rich festive season will be happy to find that this Christmas decoration also favours simple black and white combinations. Occasionally spiced with a splash of red and green, this trend reinterprets the traditional Christmas imagery in a modern way.
We are so excited to start decorating our homes for Christmas! What about you? Will you be following any of these Christmas ideas or making up your own? Which are your favourite Christmas themes? Let us know in the comments below.
