It’s never a good idea to text and drive, but it just might be an even worse idea to sext and drive.
Case in point: Miranda Rader, a 19-year-old student at Texas A&M University, was arrested Thursday night after she accidentally rear-ended a cop car while attempting to take a topless selfie to send to her boyfriend via Snapchat.
The accident caused the airbags to deploy, and when the officer approached her car to see if Rader was all right, he saw that she had an “unclasped brassiere” and was quickly trying to put her shirt back on.
“I asked her why she was not dressed while driving and she stated she was taking a Snapchat photo to send to her boyfriend while she was at a red light,” the officer said, according to Reuters.
Rader had allegedly been driving from a friend’s house when the accident occurred and had an open bottle of wine in the cup holder. She was arrested on suspicion of driving while intoxicated, and has since been released on a bond of $2,000.
As New York magazine points out, it appears she wasn’t actually penalized for the selfie itself — but the story is still proof that maybe you should wait until<after< em=””> you’ve parked before you take and send nudes.
