This dessert has a century-old history. It was firstly cooked in Iran. You can choose it according to your taste: honey-, sugar-, chocolate-, nut-based halva. But as we know, the most delicious desserts – homemade ones. Therefore, we have found for you a recipe of classic Middle Eastern halva. Here it is:

You need:

  • peeled sunflower seeds — 100 g;
  • walnuts— 100 g;
  • some hazelnuts;
  • sugar — 180 g;
  • flour — 160 g;
  • oil 75 ml;
  • cream — 75 ml.

Cook

  1. Firstly we place nuts and seeds in a dry (no oil)frying pan. Next step we grate the mix in a coffee grinder or blender.
  2. We also fry slightly the flour and then mix with nuts and seeds.
  3. Pour the water into the sugar, put in a saucepan on the stove and bring to a boil. Also we add oil, then cream. This mix we leave just for 2 minutes to boil, do not forget to stir.
  4. Then we put gently into the syrup the mixture of nuts, flour and seeds. We mix it all using a fork, after that we should put it into a form.
  5. Leave for 2-3 hours in the refrigerator.
