Ingredients:
– 400-500 g of puff pastry dough
– 3 big sweet onions
– 3 eggs
– 4 table spoons of sour cream
– 100 of cheese
– powdered pepper
– oil
Instructions:
- Defrost puff pastry dough 1-1,5 hour before cooking,
- Peel the onions and cut into half rings, fry with adding oil until golden brown.
- While frying the onion, add salt and pepper
- Make the filling. Beat eggs with sour cream
- Grate the cheese and add it to egg-sour cream mix. Stir.
- Roll out 2/3 of defrosted puff pastry dough and put in a pie pan, make the borders 1-1,5 inches height, then cut off the rest of the pastry
- The fried onions put on the pastry
- Then spread the egg-cheese filling proportionally. Turn up the pastry borders to the center of the pie
- Cut in strips the rest of the pastry and put it in a criss-cross manner like a net. The net cover with the rest of the eggs filling or with 1 egg yolk.
- Cook the onion pie in a preheated to 220 C oven for about 25-30 minutes. It can be served both hot and cold.
