The height of the space elevator, called ThothX Tower, should reach up to 20 kilometers. The invention of Canadian engineers was called ThothX Tower.
Patent offices of Great Britain and the United States gave a permission to Canadian company Thoth Technology Inc. for the production of a space elevator to launch rocket planes and ships into orbit.
According to The Guardian, the height of the space elevator, called ThothX Tower, should reach 20 kilometers.
At the top of the tower, according to the plan of the designers will be cuilt all necessary equipment for starting, landing and refueling of reusable spacecraft.
Delivery of vehicles to the top of the elevator will be possible with the help of electricity that can be obtained from wind power due to the pressure difference at the base and the top of ThothX Tower.
Some elements of construction, according to the designers, can be inflatable.
According to the scientists, the creation of a high tower is now technologically impossible task.
Engineers say that the design will save up to 30 percent of fuel in the vertical section of the trajectory – from the top of the space elevator rocket planes and ships will start immediately in landscape mode.
The representatives of the company told in the case of successful realization of their concepts they organize guided tours to the top of ThothX Tower.
