Lichtenberg figures represent the picture of the distribution of spark channels, which are formed on the surface of a solid dielectric in the sliding spark discharge.

The strong spark discharge channels having high temperature and pressure that deform the surface of the dielectric. Using acrylic prism and a linear accelerator, it is possible to “catch” lightning, as in a glass box.

The electrons emerging from the accelerator with an energy up to 10 MeV, and move about the speed of light. The electron beam can easily penetrate deep into the acrylic and quickly slows down, colliding with molecules of plastic.
