The actual thought of zombies is a rather scary concept. A once living and breathing human being turns into a brainless monster with one insatiable craving for human flesh.
The worst is when a young child falls victim to an unfortunate zombie attack and becomes one him or herself. Seeing the other family members struggle with accepting that their loved one is now a horrifying zombie with no heart is so painful to watch.
Below is a list of the most terrifying zombie deaths in film that you will want to watch with the lights off and the sound for full effect. I’ll admit, I have a strong stomach, but I squirmed quite a bit myself.
1. Zombie a.k.a. Zombi 2 (1979)
Paola, the wife of Dr. Menard, is being stalked by a zombie. Finally, the zombie cannot hold himself any longer. He strikes by grabbing her hair and later devours her.
2. Dead Alive a.k.a. Braindead (1993)
I have to hand it to Peter Jackson; he has quite the imagination, even when he was younger. Chopping all those zombies up with a traditional gardening tool? Where does he come up with this stuff?
3. City of the Living Dead (1983)
What starts out as just a typical car make out sesh ends in this monster’s ability to kill just by looking. I guess that’s where the saying, “If looks could kill” comes from.
4. Day of the Dead (1985)
This film documents a group of scientists’ experiments gone wrong. What happens when the zombies invade the supposedly safe bunker? Gore ensues.
5. Dead Snow (2009)
Dead Snow is a Norwegian film about Nazi zombies that prey on a group in town for a vacation. Time to kick some Nazi zombie ass!
All the blood and all the guts! Hope you were able to stomach it.
And for those of you who weren’t able to, I pray you didn’t have a big meal. While some intestines might be tasty to zombies, it doesn’t look as appetizing to the still living and breathing human beings.
